Geology
My many years' experience with geologic research in the region, much of it based on mapping and field investigations, have given me a familiarity and insight that lend themselves to solving practical problems throughout the region, but especially in Northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon.
Another field of expertise is that of river processes, acquired through many years of work on the Colorado River, most recently with the Glen Canyon Environmental Studies program, whose purpose is to understand the effects of Glen Canyon Dam on the downstream reach of the river through Grand Canyon. This knowledge is currently being put to use in an analysis of instream gravel mining in the Animas River near Durango, Colorado
